Responsibilities include:
• Assisting with daily care and supervision of our children
• Possible need for pick-up/drop-off to and from preschool (clean driving record required)
• Helping with speech language for toddlers

• Assisting with errands and day-to-day household needs
• Supporting a structured, positive, and nurturing environment

Qualifications:
• Prior childcare and/or household assistant experience
• Clean driving record and reliable transportation
• Must have multiple references
• Organized, dependable, and self-motivated
• Warm, patient, and engaging with children. Willing to do age appropriate activities, & take the kids outside swimming in the nice weather
• Preference for experience with developmental delays in toddlers, but not required.

We’re looking for someone who:
• Takes initiative

Schedule & compensation:

$25-30/hr depending on experience; ideally 8:00am-3:00pm Tuesdays and Thursdays starting in September (three year old will be in school at this time).

Occasional Fridays are possible, and occasional 12 hour (5 am to 4pm) days if I am traveling for work possible but not required.

I will be working from home while this person is here.

Must be comfortable with a small dog.

What is a Special Needs Nanny Job in New Jersey

The family you’re caring for will have schedules and preferences to share with you to ensure that their child receives the best care possible.

Preparing for a Special Needs Nanny Job Interview in New Jersey

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a special needs nanny job interview. Here is a list of some infant nanny interview questions to prepare for:

  • What is your specific experience with this diagnosis?
  • Can you tell us about your experiences with children with special needs?
  • Do you have any New Jersey special training?
  • What would you do if an emergency arises?
  • How strictly do you usually follow a schedule with children with special needs?

At this stage, you should come prepared with references from past special needs nanny jobs. It is a great opportunity to see how you fit in with the family and ask any questions about the responsibilities or compensation. To ensure everyone has a shared understanding of the role and responsibilities; we recommend asking for a job offer or a nanny contract.
