Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was the almost full time care taker for my niece from 2 weeks old until she was about 3 years old. I also have helped out at summer camps and sports camps with keeps 5-10 years old.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love outdoor activities, and I have been involved in a ton of sports over the years. I am going to college for golf, so I can definitely help swing coach there. I also love art of any kind (I got 3 art cords at my high school graduation), so I would definitely love art inclined kids!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part is to be engaging and present with the kids. They don't need someone to just feed them and be supervising; they need someone there to be a friend and actively playing and communicating with them during the day.
My experience with special needs children...
I worked in the special needs classrooms from 5th-12th grade, and I have always loved being a part of that community. I know beginner ASL (alphabet and some important words) and I am learning currently. I also have helped sit my boyfriend's autistic sister over the last few months.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I absolutely adore my niece, and I wish I could spend everyday with her. I think my favorite moment ever was being with her during her first steps and first words; getting to experience that with a child is really amazing.
