More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have three children of my own and have been caring for children all my life. I have worked in many different environments, including churches, schools, camps and primarily in their homes. I worked as a part -time Life Enrichment Specialist in long-term care so that I could play an active role in my kids lives. While working part-time I babysat and cared for elderly during school hours. I also volunteered in their classrooms, church youth group, and I now volunteer with the children and youth at Asheville Community Yoga. children and youth program. I also volunteer with Four Seasons Hospice. When I'm not working or volunteering my husband and I enjoy hosting our young adult children and their friends for evenings with homemade pizza, games and lots of laughs. Being around young people brings me JOY!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Playing, going outside, playing on playground, riding bikes, ball play, scooters, imaginary play, reading, legos, games, allowing children to "help" in age appropriate way (ie. folding laundry or setting table) and supporting children in their interests.
The most important part about being a nanny...
1. SAFETY, First!
2. Providing unconditional love and support and nannying in a way that supports parents in how they want to raise their children.
2. Providing unconditional love and support and nannying in a way that supports parents in how they want to raise their children.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a great deal of experience working with children with disabilities. My eldest child, now 25 years, has Autism. I worked in Church Day Cares many years and have been around special needs children and adults in my work life as a Recreation Therapist/Life Enrichment Therapist. Early in my career I worked with High Risk Teens. I am comfortable with special Needs children, and I listen to parents when they describe their child's strengths and challenges and what works best to help them with overall successful living.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I really enjoy the connections made while reading stories to babies and children. Their curiosity, questions, laughter and joy are contagious. This is what life is all about. These moments are when you understand that you are helping to shape their young lives in a way that truly makes a difference.

Part-Time Nanny Available in Asheville, NC: Meg R.
Hey there,
I am a ceramic artist and educator with a passion for making creative spaces. I have been working as a certified and trained in-home care provider since 2016. I am comfortable with children from the ages of 2 months and upwards, and I have experience working with multiples and children with special needs. I am always willing to meet the child and family where they are and grow from there.
I love to spend time outdoors and like to stay moving - I consider myself a self starter. I don't use screen time as play, and would much rather go for a walk to the park, pick up a book from the library, or make up a game.
Looking forward to new connections!
