I think the most important part about being a nanny is always being patient. I believe that a nanny should always give the child a safe space to express their wants and needs. Children's emotions should be validated and patient communication should always be used.

When I taught two toddlers to not be afraid of a thunder storm! They were scared of the thunder but we built a fort under a table and told stories and they ended up having a blast instead of being afraid. This was years ago and they still talk about it.
