Hello! I’m a marketing professional looking for nights and weekend babysitting opportunities. During my time as a babysitter and nanny in college and graduate school, I truly enjoyed the hands-on, meaningful experiences of caring for kids—something I miss compared to my current desk job.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I began working with children when I was in high school as an assistant cheerleading coach for our middle school team, as well as a volunteer coach for a local after school elementary program. From there I’ve taken on various babysitting and nannying jobs, often during summers in college and on random weekends as-needed. I also worked at my university’s writing center as a tutor, often coaching freshmen through their first college essays. I’ve worked with a range of ages and needs from toddlers to teenagers and feel confident in meeting any kid where they’re at. In addition to direct childcare experience, I have experience with special needs caretaking as a volunteer aide for two years with my university’s adult learning program for individuals with an IDD.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I like to get outside and explore as much as possible! From what I like to call “i-spy walks” to playing basketball in the driveway, movement is one of my favorite ways to connect. Museums are always a good time as well, especially interactive ones like the Children's Museum in Dover. I also love facilitating arts & crafts and creative writing projects. I’m always looking for new ways to engage both the body & brain!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Taking children seriously as humans/paying attention to them with the same respect I’d give anyone else. I believe we live in a world where the screens surrounding us are creating a kind of societal affect, and it is my intention to disrupt this trend in every interaction by staying engaged and off the phone.

Carpool Karaoke with the middle school kiddos I used to nanny - they have hilarious taste and I always looked forward to their choice for song of the day when picking them up from school.
