A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Hannah, and I am a full-time college student studying Communication Sciences and Disorders with the goal of becoming a speech-language pathologist. I have over 3 years of experience working as a caretaker for a woman with disabilities, which helped me develop strong patience, responsibility, and communication skills. I also have experience babysitting children of multiple age ranges and genuinely enjoy creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment for kids.

I am dependable, nurturing, and comfortable helping with routines, homework, meals, bedtime, and activities. In addition to childcare, I am very proficient in household tasks such as laundry, organizing, tidying, and general housekeeping. I also love to cook and bake and would be happy to help prepare meals and snacks for your family. I will soon be relocating to Alabama and look forward to connecting with families!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes student teaching through my dance studio throughout high school, where I worked with 2nd and 3rd graders by helping supervise classes, assist with activities, and support students in a positive and encouraging environment. I also babysat multiple children of different age ranges throughout middle school and high school, which gave me experience adapting to different personalities, routines, and care needs while creating a safe, fun, and supportive environment.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Activities I enjoy doing with children include arts and crafts, baking, outdoor play, board games, reading, movie nights, imaginative play, and helping with homework or learning activities. With my background in dance, I also enjoy music and movement activities that keep children active and engaged. I love creating a fun, safe, and positive environment where kids can feel comfortable, creative, and supported.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny, to me, is being someone children genuinely feel comfortable with and can trust day to day. It’s not just about supervision, but about building a real connection where they feel safe, supported, and understood. I also think consistency matters a lot—showing up, following routines, and being someone the family can rely on. On top of that, I believe a good nanny should be present and engaged, whether that means helping with everyday tasks, encouraging learning, or just being someone who brings calm and positivity into the home.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs children comes from both my educational background and my hands-on caretaking experience. For over 3 years, I have worked as a caretaker for a woman with disabilities who requires full assistance with daily living activities, medication administration, and basic first aid care. She is also nonverbal, which has helped me develop strong patience, communication, attentiveness, and adaptability skills. Through this experience, I have learned how important compassion, consistency, and individualized care are when supporting someone with unique needs.

I am also currently studying Communication Sciences and Disorders with the goal of becoming a speech-language pathologist and have completed courses in child development through college. These experiences have given me additional knowledge about communication, development, and how to create a supportive and understanding environment for children with different needs and abilities.
