Hello! I'm Hannah, a 31-year-old children's librarian. Currently, I am seeking extra work hours to supplement lost hours at my job, but I would consider eventual full-time nannying in the future.

I have 7 years of childcare experience in schools and after-school programs, as well as babysitting in homes. In college, I earned a master's degree in English and library science. When caring for a child, I do my best to facilitate an emotionally balanced environment and encourage creative expression.

The most important part is to provide not only physical safety and care, but to create a bridge for the child while their parents are away so that they are mentally and emotionally as undisturbed as possible by the separation.

My experience with special needs children...

I am not an expert of special needs, but I have experience working with children with mild - moderate Autism and ADHD. I understand basic strategies for emotional regulation and redirection.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Years ago, an 18-month-old (who called me Hanno) always pulled a stack of books for me to read while she nursed a bottle before nap time. She'd curl up in my lap and hand me book after book. Her energy was palpably peaceful, so sweet and gentle.
