Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have had many many years of child care experience. I was an Assistant Teacher for Pre-k through 5th grade. I also have an AAS in Early Childhood Education. I have been a one-on-one for children with special needs. I have worked in the daycare setting, the home care setting and I have a lot of experience with special needs children. I am established member of the Summerville community and I believe I would be a wonderful asset to your family. I am caring, loving very patient and very energetic as well. I like to encourage learning through play and for children to experience new activities. I love doing arts and crafts and activities with children.

I love doing arts and crafts with children. I believe Hands-On learning is wonderful for children it helps them develop their fine motor skills. I am really big on water tables and sensory bins.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Although I had a lot of teaching assistant experience in public schools and private schools as well, I would have to say my favorite Nanny experience was when I went to leave one night and my child ran up and would not let me leave and hugged and begged me to stay; that made me feel wonderful and I got really close with him.
My experience with special needs children...
I was a one-on-one teacher assistant for two children that had extremely special needs. I am familiar with IEPs as well as structured learning plans and picture based activity charts.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One moment that I do remember was my first day with my one-on-one child. He was an avid SpongeBob watcher. Apparently he had watched an episode where SpongeBob had said "run for your lives!!!!". I was not aware of this as I was being introduced to him and I was getting him off the school bus he SCREAMED RIN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!!!! and I was taken aback at first but then once I found out what it was stemming from I laughed and laughed that was my very first impression of my wonderful special needs child. ❤️
