Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a consistent babysitter for the same family with 3 children for about 4 years. I prepared food, created fun activities, lightly disciplined when necessary and helped with homework to the best of my ability.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Going outside is a great activity, depending on the location just playing in a yard or maybe a walk around a nearby park. I print out fun coloring pages and bring them, games, puzzles. As well as whatever activities the child enjoys.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What matters most is that the child I am watching is happy and safe. Being responsible with choices and activities and making sure the child is comfortable. It is very important to create a connection between you and the child as well as the family so you can work together and create the best environment possible.

My experience with special needs children...

My sister is slightly autistic so I grew up around her different tendencies. I always tried to help accommodate her so she could be comfortable. I have also worked at the night to shine special needs dance several years.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I had been working with two twins for a few years at that point and we were playing with some chalk in their driveway. Out of nowhere one of the girls turns to me and says “Katie, I just love you for who you are.” That was by far one of the sweetest most memorable moments of them and I will never forget it.
