I have worked in the early childcare field for 20+ years. I began babysitting as a teenager and continued to work in the field. I am currently the Center Director of a child care center and have been for about 2 years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy being outdoors, learning through nature. I have used multiple curriculums and enjoy implementing ideas to help children develop their gross and fine motor skills. I am very creative and enjoy art projects focusing on process over product. I love to cook and enjoy cooking with children and having them be involved in where their food comes from, how it is made and introduce them to the kitchen.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part of being a Nanny is ensuring the child is getting everything they need for positive, healthy development. In a child care setting, children are usually getting social interaction, curriculum based activities and as much care as a classroom teacher can give them. The best part of being a Nanny is being able to implement these things along with giving them the individualized care they need and being able to focus attention on the child instead of a classroom full of children.
