More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have experience volunteering at “Sibshop”, which is a support group for children with a special needs sibling. I was responsible for conducting activities for children, and fostering emotional, mental, and emotion growth in the most positive and healthy way possible.
Additionally, my three young nieces and nephews (ages 2, 4, and 6) reside with me and have since their birth. I am often responsible for taking care of them in every realm imaginable. Professional experience is undoubtedly unmatched to “real life” (I say this loosely) experience. I have learned more living with children in 6 years than I have 12 years working as a Nanny.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Literally everything. Children are a joy to me, and I find it confusing how so many view them as an annoyance. Some of my favorite activities with kids are:
Crafts of any type (I have the best homemade play-dough recipe), anything outdoors like the park or blowing bubbles, the beach, going to the library, playing board games, having picnics, and Legos. I am a strong believer that everything is a learning opportunity for children, and that anything can be made fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Fostering their emotional, social, and mental growth (believer in the gentle parenting movement here). And making great memories.
My experience with special needs children...
I truly have a tremendous amount of experience with special needs children - far too much to list here. However, they include:
ASD/Asperger’s
Developmental delays
Cerebral Palsy
Musical Dystrophy
Legal blindness
Various learning disabilities
Cognitive disabilities
Terminal illness
Food allergies
