A little bit about me

My name is Kira I have cared for A lot of children. I’m a student at ABAC studying Agricultural Education (hopefully on the elementary education track). I’ve worked at a daycare with children aged 0-12 (8 months) and worked at camps with kids 10-16 (seasonal 5 years). I have quite a few siblings so I have a lot of experience with children. I like to have fun with kids and I am very comfortable with pets of all shapes and sizes.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love going outside and playing catch or tag or basketball or painting (or letting them teach me cartwheels like my little sisters like to do) sometimes a little field day fun. The indoors are super fun for board games and drawing, playing dress-up, learning activities, and sometimes even doing some baking together (safely of course).

My experience with special needs children...

In school, I often worked with special needs students. A lot of times it was just reading, but I will also play games that they are comfortable with. I worked at a summer camp for autistic children. I once did a pig show where we brought in about 25 special needs students (my little buddy was 4 and the cutest kid ever) and we hung out with them the entire day showing them how to care for and show pigs. Having a family member with cerebral palsy I have gotten a lot of experience with people that need some extra care or attention. I have helped tutor kids with ADHD and Dyslexia as well.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I planned a sisters' day for two little girls where they did a fashion show and we made an indoor slide, we baked cookies and I made them special t-shirts with their names on them. They also played trivia and had a special (and healthy) Christmas themed picnic. They had so much fun and it made me really happy seeing them so happy.
