Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I grew up tutoring and mentoring children, and strongly support the pursuit of knowledge through community building efforts! I participated and worked as a student tutor and mentor for Next Level Tutors my junior year at UC Berkeley, and relished in being able to educate, customize lesson plans and connect with students! I carefully individualized, weekly lesson plans, homework assignments on days without tutoring sessions, and frequent check-ins and discourse with parents of each student. I have additionally participated as a student tutor in high school, volunteering after school at Salama Urban Ministries (a local tutoring center in Nashville, Tennessee, working with students in local middle and high schools), teaching English, Reading Comprehension, Math, and additionally tutoring in Spanish! We also played games, did theatrical lessons, sang songs, and other recreational pastimes!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
When working with children, I enjoy playing card/board games, crafting (drawing, painting, sketching, collaging, etc...!), building (legos, other toys), playing games (hide and seek, freeze tag, making up games), reading, cooking and baking, and more!

My experience with special needs children...
I for three years with Vanderbilt University, as a student aid and mentor within their SENSE Lab (Social Emotional NeuroScience Endocrinology), through summer programs pairing aids with students on the autism spectrum; I engaged in daily check-ins with my students, incorporating theatrical and performance-based exercises, public speaking encouragement and practice, engagement through team-building games, and preparation to act in an annual theatrical performance piece that would be exhibited for other members of SENSE, and for students’ families and loved ones!
The most important part about being a nanny...
In my hometown, I spent weekends babysitting for a sweet family, with two twin daughters who were 5 years old! One day, I baked chocolate chip cookies for them, and they helped me place chocolate chips into the batter!
