A little bit about me

Hi families! My name is Maggie, and I bring over 8 years of childcare experience, including nannying and daycare roles. I’ve worked with children from infancy through early school age, supporting their growth with patience, structure, and lots of creativity. My background includes time at Rising Stars Preschool in Austin, TX and Big Blue Marble daycare in Auburn, AL, as well as several years as a private nanny.

I’m CPR/First Aid trained (renewal in progress) and experienced with both newborn care and managing multiple children. Families often describe me as warm, dependable, and attentive — someone who creates a safe, fun, and nurturing environment while also helping with meal prep, tidying, and routines.

I’ll be relocating to Toronto in November 2025 and am excited to find a wonderful family to partner with long term.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have over 8 years of childcare experience, including working in daycare settings (Rising Stars Preschool in Austin, TX, and Big Blue Marble in Auburn, AL) and as a private nanny. I also volunteered for several summers at VA hospitals and a nursing home in Cedar Park, TX, providing caregiving and support. These roles gave me a strong foundation in both professional childcare and compassionate caregiving.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy reading stories, doing arts and crafts, and playing educational games indoors. Outdoors, I love taking children on walks, exploring parks, and encouraging active play like soccer or tag. I also enjoy cooking simple, kid-friendly recipes together and helping with creative projects that spark imagination.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and consistent environment where children can thrive. I value building trust with both the kids and their parents, supporting each child’s growth, and being someone they feel comfortable, cared for, and encouraged by every day.

My experience with special needs children...

I have extensive experience caring for my younger brother, who has both physical and intellectual disabilities, as well as my two nieces. In addition, I volunteered for three summers at an equestrian therapy program, where I supported children with a wide range of special needs. These experiences have deepened my patience, empathy, and ability to create a safe, supportive environment tailored to each child’s needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments was when I helped a little one I was caring for learn to ride their bike without training wheels. We practiced every afternoon, and the day they finally took off on their own, their smile and excitement were priceless. It was such a sweet reminder of how rewarding it is to support children’s growth and celebrate their milestones alongside them.
