I love working with toddlers because there is so much to teach them and they learn so fast! I worked in Malaysia as a nanny for over 6 months and every time I could teach the toddler I nannied a new word it made my whole day. It's very rewarding work.

Hours can be flexible, I’ll need to drop my son off at high school around 7:30 every morning, and want to be available for him some afternoons and evenings as well, so we just need to work around this schedule.

While in a classroom setting I worked in an infancy/toddler classroom, but most of my time was spent in Children's House (3-6). On occasion, I would sub in elementary classrooms. Working in a Montessori classroom has been one of the most knowledgeable experiences for my childcare experience. I absolutely fell in love with the Montessori philosophy & implement these teachings in my childcare.
As for privatized childcare, I have been a nanny/sitter for over 10 years. I continue to work with some of my families on an as-need basis. Finding the right family that values communication & relation is hugely important to me. A nanny should act as an extension of your family!
