My experience with special needs children...
My youngest nephew has mild autism, and is very reckless and is very easy to freak out, I’m the only one in my family able to calm him down. This is because he gets triggered by people looking at him, especially when breaking down, I always cover my eyes and lower myself down to his level, so I don’t appear threatening and imposing, as well as lowering my voice, and being more gentle.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I taught the sweetest little angel how to make a flower crown, in my backyard. The next day when she came over, she started making one while I was cooking. Then proceeded to come inside and give it to me because “princesses should always have crowns”!! She’s my mom’s best friends daughter! That was 3 years ago🥹
