Hi parents :)

My name is McKenna and I would love to come nanny for your children!

I have been working with children ever since I can remember. As soon as I was old enough I began babysitting and continued that up until I graduated college. In high school and college I worked at a daycare (7 years in total) and cared for children 6 weeks old to 10 years old. I completed my Masters in elementary education at the University of Arkansas and completed a year long internship as a teacher in Fayetteville. I have been working as a third grade math teacher the past two years in the Bronx, New York.

I love pets and am great with art, activities, cleaning, schoolwork, etc.

I have always loved working with children and I can't see my life without them!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I began babysitting in late middle school and continued to babysit all the way through college. In high school, I worked at a daycare and cared for children 6 weeks old to 10 years old. I would work after school every day, and full-time in the summer. I continued to work at the daycare during college, coming back to work full-time during my summer and winter breaks. During this time (6 years in total) I learned how to care for children of all ages. I completed a year-long internship as a teacher in Fayetteville and received my Master's in Elementary Education at the University of Arkansas. During my student teaching, I taught Kindergarten, Third Grade, and Sixth Grade. I moved to New York after graduation and have been working as a third-grade math teacher for the past two years in the Bronx, New York.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some of my favorite activities to do with children are crafts, going to the park, going to museums, playing board games or cards, taking a walk outdoors, riding bikes or scooters, and more!

My experience with special needs children...

have taught for the past three years through student teaching and also full-time teaching. During my student teaching, I taught students with Traumatic Brain Injury, Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD, and more. In my first year of teaching in New York, I taught in the Bronx in an ICT classroom. This is a classroom designed to support children with IEPs. I taught students with various behavioral disorders and learning disabilities, as well as the special needs listed above. I am a certified Dyslexia Therapist as well. This was my endorsement for my Master's degree.
