Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love the outdoors and encouraging creative play. I believe social emotional development is just as important as academics. I believe in holding boundaries and expectations for the children I care for but most importantly with a lens of compassion, curiosity, and patience. I'm also happy to spend time indoors with the kiddos- reading, baking, crafts, an occasional movie (though I definitely prefer interactive play over screen time!).
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe social emotional development is an integral part of childhood. Through connection children feel seen and are able to take healthy risks to grow. I believe in holding boundaries and expectations for the children I care for (safety first!) but most importantly with a lens of compassion, curiosity, and patience.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a degree in Special Education and have extensive experience working with kiddos and adults with complex needs (both physical as well as mental health).
The most important part about being a nanny...
When one of my littles felt safe and comfortable enough with me (after a very traumatic year for him for context) to bestow a nickname for me: Clums (as in clumsy)
