I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with children through several different roles over the past few years. At the Portsmouth YMCA, I worked primarily with children ages 4 to 7, as well as some older kids between 8 and 12. I helped lead activities, assist with group games, and provide a safe, fun environment where kids could learn and grow. I also serve regularly in the nursery at Ivy Baptist Church, where I care for infants and toddlers during services, creating a warm and nurturing space for them to feel secure. On top of that, I’ve been babysitting for families in my community for about four years now, caring for kids of various ages and building lasting relationships with both the children and their parents.

Some activities I really enjoy doing with kids include coloring, exploring nature, encouraging hands-on learning, and simply going along with whatever they love to do most. I believe in making each child feel seen, heard, and free to express themselves while having fun in a safe, supportive environment.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was while babysitting for a family of four. The youngest son and I were outside exploring the garden, searching for bugs and insects. He was so excited when he found a snail and even more thrilled when he decided to pick it up and chase his older sister around the yard with it! It was such a funny and playful moment.
