More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have 2–3 years of paid childcare experience through babysitting and aftercare programs, where I cared for children of different ages in both structured and home settings. My responsibilities included supervising daily activities, helping with homework, preparing snacks and meals, maintaining routines, assisting with bedtime, and creating fun, engaging activities to keep children active and entertained. I’m very patient, attentive, and dependable, and I always prioritize creating a safe, positive, and nurturing environment for the children in my care. My experience working in fast-paced environments and leadership roles has also strengthened my communication skills, multitasking abilities, and sense of responsibility when caring for others.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Activities I enjoy doing with children include arts and crafts, outdoor activities, basketball and other sports, movie nights, reading, educational games, homework help, and creative activities that keep them engaged while learning. I also enjoy taking children to parks, doing fun DIY projects, baking simple treats together, and creating routines that balance fun, learning, and structure. I love building positive relationships with kids by making sure they feel comfortable, supported, and able to enjoy themselves in a safe environment.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment where children feel secure, valued, and understood. It’s about being dependable and consistent while also being patient and attentive to each child’s individual needs. A great nanny should build trust, encourage growth, and make sure children feel included and confident in themselves. I also believe communication with both the children and parents is very important, along with creating a balance of structure, learning, and fun so the children can thrive in every way.
My experience with special needs children...
I have personal and hands-on experience with special needs children because two of my cousins are special needs, and two are deaf. Through that experience, I’ve learned the importance of patience, understanding, communication, and creating an environment where children feel safe, comfortable, and included. I enjoy learning their language and different signs to communicate better with them, and I love being able to connect with them in ways that make them feel understood and valued. Seeing their faces light up when they feel included, happy, and supported is something that means a lot to me, and it’s one of the reasons I genuinely enjoy working with children and helping them feel confident and cared for as they always should.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment is seeing the children I care for feel truly happy, comfortable, and included. One moment that stands out to me is when I was able to communicate and connect with children using sign language and simple gestures I had learned, and seeing their faces light up when they felt understood. It reminded me how important patience, effort, and consistency are when working with children, especially those who need a little extra support. Moments like that, along with laughter, bonding during activities, and watching them grow in confidence, are what make childcare so meaningful to me.
