Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Parks and green spaces, art and guitar lessons, listening to music, academic tutoring, reading, boardgames, cooking, and bicycling to name a few!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Learning the child's "language" and preferences, and learning from them as you guide and assist them as they grow. This applies at home, at play, and in the classroom for all ages.

My experience with special needs children...

My sister is 20 years old, totally blind and has Asperger's syndrome. My volunteer experience with the National Federation of the Blind and Families of Children Under Stress allowed me to work with all ages of children (and adults with disabilities) ranging from visual and hearing impairments, a variety physical and cognitive conditions, and temperaments.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Watching my siblings and children in my classrooms learn their "firsts" (words, walking, etc.) is very rewarding, and exposing them to new activities that quickly become their favorites is really wonderful (painting, new food, new stories, etc.)
