A little bit about me

Hello! I am a Dartmouth graduate student who has been working as a private, in-home childcare provider since 2012. I started out as a nanny for infants under 21 months for the first five years, and then moved into roles with older children and even tweens/teens. So from diapers to dropping your kids off at drivers ed, I have done it all. I love crafts, baking, reading stories, going to the park, and cuddles. Kids are an absolute blessing and the sweetest little things in the world to me.

My Skills: Stimulating conversation skills when it comes to Disney, your day, what's going on with your friends at school, and what your current interests are. Moderately-decent at tag. I might get winded but I'll put in a good effort. Great at roleplaying princess, and "always early and not embarrassing" when it comes to school pick up/drop off. (from a 12 year-old). As of 2024, I am also up-to-date on in fact, child, and water safety first aid + CPR certifications.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at the Kumon tutoring center for children as a math, literature, and reading tutor for elementary and middle-school students. In graduate school as a student I also worked as a teachers assistant and taught core concepts on social justice issues to incoming freshman classes. While you might question if my recent teaching experience in college carries much relevancy, it has very much changed and shaped who I am and how I choose to approach others and the world around me. I think being wrong is a sign of strength, that caring for other people who share our planet is important, and that changing our perspectives based off of new research and understanding as we come to know more is what truly makes for a well-rounded person as they grow. These are absolutely the values that I carry and teach (in age-appropriate/developmental understanding ways) to the lovely children entrusted in my care.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Baking, making slime, going to the park, swimming, making play-doh, reading

The most important part about being a nanny...

Besides snuggles, kisses, and sweatpants? For me, it's the idea that nannies can play a role in helping to shape children into thoughtful, respectful, and self-confident adults. As an emotionally developed nanny who relies on empathy-based means of communication, I personally have a chance to help children grow and develop social skills, a greater sense of self-awareness, and even an understanding of emotions (and the words/language needed in order to have the ability to convey those feelings). By caring for children through both my kind words, listening skills, and validation, I empower children to foster their own sense of care and consideration towards others.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Oh gosh! I could never choose! But probably my favorite moment (besides the one time I accidentally overloaded the dishwasher with hand soap YEARS ago and exploded the kitchen in bubbles!) is when kids genuinely just give you a hug. Maybe we'll be doing something, like either playing or going down for a nap, and they give you that genuine hug and that look and I know Im a goner. It's been so special seeing just how much love is available for you to give. I really do love my nanny kids so much! And would do anything for them

I look forward to connecting and learning more about whether I would be a good fit for your family.
