I’ve babysat and cared for family friends, family when they were baby and adolescents, I was partially a caregiver when I was working at Brookdale Senior Living, now this is not the same as caring for the babies I did, but caring for humans, or humans that need caring, because you love to and you’re good at it is a quality not many people possess, and one that I am proud I do.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing crafts! I know how to cook, bake, make soap, make whimsical creatures out of silly straws, do science experiments (like mentos in coke and baking soda and vinegar and why they met have the reaction they do!) and I know so many cool facts like how crocodiles are intended same family as dinosaurs and so many other things!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Being there. Being accountable, having an open mind and ears to listen. Taking care of them and being there for the parents/guardians.
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have any experience, but I am special needs myself, I’m autistic and have adhd, but I function very well and have a good life, I understand what it’s like to grow up special needs and having that perspective as a child and even now as an adult. It’s hard. But I’m here to listen, be a friend, and be there to help.
