My childcare and youth experience includes working with children and families across different ages, backgrounds, and cultures. I currently work as a Pre-K 3 Teacher and previously worked as a Kindergarten Assistant Teacher. I’ve also taught and supported students in Minnesota and the DMV area through education, mentoring, and youth development programs, including Peer Forward and nonprofit youth initiatives. Across these roles, I’ve provided hands-on care, supported learning and development, managed daily routines and behavior, and created safe, welcoming environments where children feel supported and valued.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing a mix of fun, creative, and educational activities with children! My favorites include arts and crafts, reading, music and dancing, outdoor play, age-appropriate games, and hands-on learning activities. I also enjoy encouraging children to use their imagination, express themselves, and build confidence while having fun.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, the most important part of being a nanny is making children feel safe, cared for, and comfortable being themselves. Through my experience teaching Pre-K 3 and Kindergarten and working with children and youth in different settings, I’ve learned that every child is different and deserves patience, understanding, and genuine care. I love getting to know each child’s personality, interests, and needs while creating a fun and supportive environment for them. I also believe in building a trusting relationship with parents and keeping communication open so they feel confident knowing their child is in good hands.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience supporting children with diverse learning, developmental, and behavioral needs through my work in inclusive classroom settings. In my last and current role, I support students in an ICT (inclusion) classroom and work alongside educators to provide individualized support, encourage participation, and create a welcoming environment where every child can learn and feel included. I’m patient, attentive, and comfortable adapting activities and routines to meet each child’s individual needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
While I haven’t worked as a nanny yet, one of my favorite moments working with children is seeing a child gain confidence in something they once struggled with. Whether it’s learning a new skill, opening up, or accomplishing something independently, I love being able to encourage children and celebrate those little wins with them. Those moments are a big part of why I enjoy working with children so much.
