A little bit about me

Hi! I'm a 28 year old nanny who has a wide array of child care experience. I have 10 years of experience with the whole age spectrum of kiddos, from newborns to teens/ young adults. I have worked as an AVID Tutor in the Vallivue School District and have experience with AWD ( Adults With Disabilities) and SWD ( Students With Disabilities).I am also proficient in ASL. I am open to tutoring as well as nanny positions and open to light housework as well.
In my free time I play the violin, ukulele and love to craft with paints and sew!I also have a wonderful garden I am very proud of! I love to be outdoors and kayak.
I am a 2x cancer survivor( happy to answer questions about this) and am just starting to incorporate life outside of the hospital back into my routine so some flexibility is needed. I go out of town to SLC for care every 1-3 months but I will coordinate with work as much as I can.
I am willing to nanny share and have multiple children under my care.
I cannot use payroll.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

AVID Tutor:
I facilitated a group of at risk youth middle school students ages ranging in the 6-8 grade. I facilitated tutorial groups that focused on academic success. I also took them on field trips to the Discovery Center, U of I Boise Campus and Boise State University. I focused on academic success and as well as developing interpersonal relationships that taught self discipline, critical thinking and self expression.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy crafting, the outdoors, music, reading and teaching children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important thing with working with children is compassion and consistency. I lead with a gracious and understanding hand.

My experience with special needs children...

I had the priviledge of being apart of the STARS program through Boise High. In this program I mentored a student with a disability through the Introduction to Students With Exceptionalities course taught that semester through Boise State. I mentored a student who was 16 with physical and well as mental disabilities. I also completed that course with a 86%.
I am proficient in ASL.
I also have years of experience with children with Autism/ Non Verbal Children.
I have quite a bit of experience with children with complicated health conditions including epilepsy, high intensity allergies and have taken care of premature newborns before.
