A little bit about me
Currently, I am a high school science teacher, which I truly enjoy. Most of my availability will be very flexible during the summer when school is out, as well as school days off / vacations during the school year.
As a current teacher and a former law enforcement officer, safety is paramount and you can trust that I will keep your children safe. Children are our future and I think they deserve more than just someone who can "babysit" them. They deserve to have fun, be comfortable and be happy when a caretaker is with them and actually enjoy their time with them.
My experience with children, energy, positive attitude, and fun demeanor makes me the perfect role model for your child to be around. Please contact me with any questions you may have.
Please note: payroll, cash, zelle, venmo, cashapp accepted

A little bit about me
I am patient, dependable, kind, crafty, fun-loving, and highly enjoy the outdoors! I have over six years of experience in childcare, I have experience as a teacher at early learning centers and also as a nanny. I am certified in CPR, Meds and Injectables, and more.
My love for children and learning came about at a very young age. I love to find different and/or new ways to reach goals, which is why I enjoy the uniqueness of every child and the challenge of having to adjust my teaching style to complement the child I am working with. I am keen on giving every child the space to be themselves! as well as making learning fun and exciting.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Derby, CT
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Derby Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Derby? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Derby?
- Do you have a driver’s license in CT? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming!
