A little bit about me

I have over four years of experience working in childcare, specializing in Montessori education across all age groups. In addition to working in schools, I have also been a nanny, which has allowed me to develop a deep understanding of individualized care. I thrive in fast-paced environments, quickly recognizing and responding to children’s needs while seamlessly adapting to new routines and skills.

I understand that having a new caregiver can be an adjustment for both children and families, so I make it my priority to build trust in any way I can. Originally from Kansas City, I moved in June 2024. I am currently looking for a part time position in the evening! I plan to take 3-4 days a week.

"Casey came over and watched our two year old for two mornings a week all summer. We’ve never had anyone watch our daughter besides family, so I was a little nervous bringing her in. However, she exceeded all expectations. My daughter nicknamed her Kiki, always asked when she was coming over and just loved being around her. Additionally, Casey was great at doing activities with her, getting her breakfast, changing her and sometimes even getting her dressed in the morning. She quickly caught on to our routine and was super helpful, even picking up the house! I felt so at ease knowing it was a Casey day. I also have a five year old son who is on the spectrum and non-verbal. Casey was super flexible and watched him a couple times as well, and I felt so comfortable leaving him with her. She had no issues catching on to his routines/wants. I’m glad to have found her. Even though our normal summer time is coming to an end, I’ll definitely reach out for babysitting jobs in the future!"

I adore kids and always have. I grew up raising my siblings and always baby sitting kids in the family. I currently work at a daycare and absolutely love it but I am graduating and moving back to Omaha and want to find a job with kids as it is what I am good at and what i enjoy. I’m very open minded and easy going. Very trustworthy and have great communication skills. I’m extremely patient, especially when it comes to kids. I would love some new kiddos to dedicate my care and love to!

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Omaha, NE

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Omaha Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Omaha? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Omaha?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in NE? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
