A little bit about me
Hi! My name is Erin, I’m 23 years old living in Oakland California. A few things about me, i’m non-binary and go by they/them and currently work in special education as a paraprofessional. I live to dance, sing, and play with my dog Frodo. I’ve been working with kids for over five years now ranging from being a nanny, to choreographer and dance teacher, to science camp instructor and now currently assisting students who are on the spectrum or have disabilities in an education environment. My schedule is currently open all week due to school ending and summer break beginning so I’m out of work at the moment. I’m open to any phone calls, emails, in person meet ups, anything you’re comfortable with and I am willing to do background checks and provide any paperwork or references if needed. :)

A little bit about me
Hi I'm Haala,
I'm a 28 year old, fully vaccinated, environmental engineering masters student at UC Berkeley. I'm looking for a part time nanny position in Boston for the summer to recharge before going back to school.
I find childcare very fulfilling and fun.
My experience has included teaching english, science and math, as well as youth mentorship through various religious institutions. I worked 4 years as an engineer after undergrad and am excited to get to babysit for a while!
I always try to create a patiently disciplined but silly and fun environment. I would love to find a position in which I can foster a creative learning environment and do intellectually enriching activities. We can explore various classical and modern arts, music and literature and I can supplement online schooling and aid children with coursework.
I will be available in Boston from May-mid August, Monday- Friday on a part time basis, special weekend events and additional weekday hours will be negotiable.

How to Hire a Summer Nanny in Oakland, CA
Nanny Lane helps you find a summer nanny in Oakland, CA to take care of your children while school is out.
We offer nanny services including background checks, Agency, and nanny payroll. Start by posting a profile with a job description, and soon you can start connecting with nannies who fit your family.
What Is a Summer Nanny?
A summer nanny is a nanny who works during the school break, for the full summer or for part of it. Summer nannies are often teachers, college students, or experienced nannies who prefer seasonal work, so families can find help when school-age children are home during the day.
Common Responsibilities of Summer Nannies in Oakland, CA
Summer days are less structured than the school year. A summer nanny plans activities such as park visits, swimming, crafts, and day trips, prepares meals and snacks, and may take children to camps or classes. For younger children, they keep up the usual nap and mealtime routines.
What to Consider Before You Hire
Start your search early, since good summer nannies are booked quickly. Decide your start and end dates, your weekly hours, and whether you need flexibility around camps, vacations, or travel. Be clear about transportation, and about whether you need the nanny to drive. If your dates might change, say so up front.
Summer Nanny Interview Questions
Once you find a promising candidate, invite them for an interview to see if they would be a great fit for your family. Here are some questions you can ask:
- Which dates are you available this summer?
- Are you able to adjust if our dates or hours change?
- What activities would you plan for the children during the day?
- Are you comfortable driving, including to camps and activities?
- Do you have experience with children of our children's ages?
At this stage, request their references and ask their references some questions. After preparing the job offer or contract, we recommend that you run a background check before the start date.
