More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I’ve worked with kids and teens in all sorts of settings over the years! Most recently, I was a greenhouse teacher at an all-women’s boarding school, working with students ages 14–18. Here too I worked on campus as a resident affiliate, helping with check-ins, study hall, and all the little day-to-day things that make dorm life run smoothly. Before that, I was a nanny for three boys (ages 4, 7, and 9) while I was in college, and I’ve been babysitting since I was 14. I even worked as an on-call sitter for local hotels, so I’ve had the chance to meet and care for lots of different families. All in all, I’ve had a pretty wide range of childcare experience, and I really love being part of kids’ worlds, helping them learn, explore, and find a little magic in the everyday.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love anything that lets kids be creative and curious! Some of my favorite things to do are reading stories together, making up our own adventures, doing arts and crafts, visiting museums or libraries, and spending time outside exploring. I’m a big fan of nature walks, visiting playgrounds, and turning ordinary days into little discoveries, whether that’s finding shapes in the clouds or searching for hidden treasure tucked between tree roots.
I also enjoy quiet moments like puzzles, drawing, or reading time, and I’m always happy to help with homework or school projects. Mostly, I just enjoy being present and finding joy in the small things kids notice that adults sometimes miss.

The most important part about being a nanny...
For me, the most important part of being a nanny is being there for the liminal moments of childhood...the quiet in-betweens where kids start to figure out who they are and how they see the world. It’s about showing up with patience and warmth, noticing the small things, and helping them feel safe enough to explore and grow at their own pace. Those little moments in between everything else are the ones that really matter to me as a nanny.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite nanny moments was setting up a mini archaeological dig for the three boys I was caring for one summer. I’m an archaeologist by training, and they were always so curious about my work, so we decided to try it for ourselves! I buried little “artifacts” in layers of soil, and together we dug carefully, one layer at a time, cataloging our finds just like real archaeologists. They were completely absorbed in the process (and it took all afternoon!), and it was such a joy to see their excitement as they uncovered each new “discovery.” It was the perfect mix of learning, imagination, and adventure. And I had a lot of fun too.
