A little bit about me

I have over 25 years of Nanny/teaching experience. I love working with younger children.I'm Mom to 3-My youngest daughter is now17, just returned to in-person highschool, I'm able to work 3-4 days with zero time restrictions. This will be the first time in 17 years where I will not be bringing her to work with me. Its very bittersweet- having to allow her the freedom she so craves and deserves after being robbed of any socialization for two years- as so many kids are also dealing with the aftermath of covid.I need to let her be 17 and I'll fill my days with a few little
cuties or maybe just one- who will thrive having my undivided attention.I am a former preschool Teacher and truly love teaching early literacy! I have vast experience working with special needs, emotional (ADD/ADHD) learning, and physical disabilities as well. I'm also a MAcertified Driving Instructor opting NOT to return to classroom teaching or in-car lessons at this time. Looking to stay within 5 miles of Framingham

What Is a House Manager/Nanny?

A House Manager/Nanny combines childcare with household management or family assistant duties. Besides caring for the children, they help run the household, from organizing schedules and errands to supervising other help, which suits busy families who want one person looking after the home and the children.

Common Responsibilities of House Manager/Nannies in Framingham, MA

Duties often include meal planning and grocery shopping, laundry, organizing the home, running errands, scheduling appointments and activities, and coordinating with other household staff, on top of childcare. The balance between childcare and household tasks varies from one family to another.

What to Consider Before You Hire

Be specific about how the time is split between childcare and household work, and put it in a job description. Roles that combine duties may be paid at a higher rate, and they call for more experience. Make sure expectations about housekeeping, such as deep cleaning, are clear from the start.

House Manager/Nanny Interview Questions

Once you find a promising candidate, invite them for an interview to see if they would be a great fit for your family. Here are some questions you can ask:

  • Have you worked as a nanny and as a household manager or family assistant?
  • What household tasks are you comfortable managing?
  • How do you organize schedules, errands, and appointments?
  • Have you supervised other staff, such as cleaners or contractors?
  • How do you balance the children's needs with household tasks?

At this stage, request their references and ask their references some questions. After preparing the job offer or contract, we recommend that you run a background check before the start date.
