A little bit about me

I have professional experience working with children from infants to teens. Infancy and toddler years are my primary focus, but I am happy to continue working beyond that stage to stay with a growing child or a growing family!

Recently I have been working short-term nanny positions, and am looking for another family to work with starting in September 2025.

One "version" of me is a fox character, consorting with corvids and faeries! For several years, I attended events in-costume as the caregiver for a fellow performer's child, so that baby and parent could travel together while baby had dedicated attention and care.

I am looking for a long-term position near DC, or am open to traveling outside of the area for a short-term position.

Recent reference

"Sam filled in for us for a month while we were temporarily between caregivers, and did an amazing job caring for both babies in our nanny share (13 weeks and 19 weeks at the start of the share). They were warm, friendly, and extremely caring with our baby. They also took directions really well-- both babies have torticollis, and our son needs to be encouraged to look to the right as much as possible. Sam did tummy time, stretches, and did their best to make sure everyone's PT needs were met. I had just started going back to work after my maternity leave ended, and I appreciated how communicative Sam was about how my baby was doing every day."

A little bit about me

I am a family oriented teacher who relocated to Washington D.C. As the last daughter of a large family from Hawaii, I've always had the responsibility to look after my younger cousins, nieces and nephews. This was the beginning of my love for education and childcare. I have over five years of teaching experience and I truly love making education as fun and engaging as possible. Some of my hobbies are hiking, crafts, line dancing and reading. I have an open schedule and am open to additional responsibilities including light housework, meal prep or other household assistance.

I am a junior Health Science major from Monterey, California. I’ve been working with children since I was 12 years old as a tutor for elementary students and at the age of 16, I got my first job working at a teen center where I would watch over a lot high school and middle school kids.I then started working with kids Tk-6th grade when I was 18 and it’s been so much fun that I continue to work summer camps each summer when I am back home! I started working with Preschool students when I was 20 years old and that has been the funnest 2 years of my life so far. My experience with young babies comes from helping take care of my nieces and nephews. I have a lot experience when it comes to child care and I am willing to provide services to any children in need. I prioritize safety, education, and having fun!

Common Responsibilities of Housekeeper Nannies in Washington, DC

When evaluating if a housekeeping nanny is right for your family, it’s important to consider what makes housekeeping nannies distinct from nannies. Both a housekeeping nanny and a nanny are responsible for creating a safe and stimulating environment. These responsibilities can include organizing activities, preparing meals, handling child-related errands as well as others. However, a housekeeping nanny usually takes on cleaning and maintenance for the entire home and family. In contrast, a nanny focuses exclusively on cleaning for the children such as the playroom, children's laundry, etc. A housekeeping nanny offers these services to the entire home and family, including laundry, cleaning bathrooms, mopping, and vacuuming.

A housekeeping nanny can be a full-time, part-time, or live-in position. It is essential to take these factors into account when determining how much you should pay a housekeeping nanny.
