A little bit about me

Hello, I'm Maya, a compassionate and creative nanny with a strong background in developmental and cognitive psychology. I find great joy in bringing creative projects to life, whether it's painting, claywork, or creating holiday-themed crafts. Seeing children's creativity flourish and witnessing their joy throughout the process is incredibly rewarding for me.
I love exploring flavors through cooking & baking and being able to share these experiences with others, particularly my enthusiastic four-year-old niece, as we come together to prepare delicious treats and bond over our shared love of food.
Pets hold a special place in my heart, and I am fortunate to have two adorable kitties and two little lion-head bunnies at home. Their presence brings immense joy and warmth to my life, and I extend that same love and care to any furry friends in the families I work with.
I find solace and joy in spending time in nature, appreciating its beauty and tranquility.

"Ngawang provided flexible help for our family at a time when we really needed it! Our sons were 3 and 5 when she started working with us and we had a lot of different programs we were ferrying them between. While Ngawang doesn't drive, she was able to walk our older son to school and wait for the bus with our younger son. She was also there with them on the many days when school was cancelled for holidays or otherwise. Our older son loved playing with her, whether it was basketball and other sports in the backyard or chess and other indoor activities. Our younger son has some special needs, but Ngawang was very patient and loving toward him and he always seemed to enjoy her presence. When not with our children, Ngawang helped us with cooking and basic household maintenance (dishes, picking up, taking out trash, etc), which was invaluable! We only stopped working with her because we moved."

"Smiley! Positive! Upbeat and proactive! Did beyond what I asked of her. Was reliable and someone I enjoyed spending time with. My daughter loved her. She was so playful with her. She did laundry when I hadn't thought to ask for help. She was up for making dinner for the whole family when needed. Always exploring new fun things to do w our baby girl and as a new Mom (at the time) had wonderful advice. I adored her and the only reason we parted ways was because she became pregnant. She was our first Nanny and I felt so lucky to have her. "

A little bit about me

Currently, I work for a non-profit organization in San Francisco as an Early Interventionist, where I support children ages 0-3 who are experiencing developmental delays. In this role, I focus on addressing developmental gaps and helping families foster their child’s progress.

I have a B.A. in Psychology from San Francisco State University, and shortly after graduating, I moved to Germany to work as an au pair. In the near future, I plan to pursue graduate school with the goal of becoming either a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or a Speech-Language Pathologist.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with children on and off for a total of five years, and I look forward to continuing this work in the future :)
