A little bit about us
We’re ideally looking for 4–5 weekdays of care, roughly 8:00am–4:30/5pm, with some flexibility. Grandma may take one day a week, so we’re also open to a four-day arrangement.
We’re looking to join a share where the other family is able to host care in their home.
Our ideal nanny is warm, reliable, and experienced with infants, and enjoys getting out for walks, reading, playing, and planning age-appropriate activities as the babies grow.
Most importantly, we’d love to find a nanny and another family who feel like a great long-term fit!

A little bit about us
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:30am–5:30pm (50 hrs/week)
Start date: Flexible, targeting mid-Nov to early Dec 2026 (possible part-time bridge role from Oct 5 for the right fit)
Pay: Competitive, on the books (W-2), top of local market for the right candidate
Kids: Daughter, almost 2 (part-time daycare); infant son (primary focus of this role)
About us: Two working parents, bilingual household (English/Japanese). This isn't an urgent replacement — our current nanny of 2 years is transitioning out for personal reasons, and we're taking our time to find the right long-term fit. We're planning a paid overlap/training period with her before the new hire starts solo.
What we're looking for: warm, affectionate, and proactive — someone who anticipates needs rather than waiting to be told. Excellent, direct communicator. Developmentally engaged (reading, talking, playing, encouraging independence). Comfortable supporting an infant and, at times, a toddler together. Looking for a long-term, multi-year fit, not a short-term placement.
The role: primary daytime care for our infant son; occasional support with our daughter (before/after daycare, occasional pickup/drop-off); light child-related household tasks (kids' laundry, daycare lunch prep, tidying kids' spaces, weekly trash to curb). Not a housekeeping role.
Requirements: valid driver's license, comfortable driving regularly (daycare pickup/drop-off is routine); reliable and experienced with infants/toddlers; strong English communication.
Location: Jamaica Plain — commutable distance welcome, proximity a plus.
Please reach out with your experience, availability, and what you're looking for in your next role!

How much do nannies make in Boston, MA?
What are typical nanny responsibilities in Boston?
When you find a nanny job in Boston, your nanny duties can vary widely based on the family's specific needs. Common responsibilities include childcare, meal prep, light housekeeping related to the child(ren), and facilitating educational activities. In Boston, you may also be tasked with accompanying children to various educational and recreational spots, like the Boston Children's Museum or the New England Aquarium.
How can I prepare for a nanny interview in Boston?
Acing your nanny interview is an important step to land a nanny job in Boston. Preparation can include researching common nanny interview questions, practicing your responses, and gathering references. You'll also want to be familiar with the unique aspects of living in Boston, such as navigating the city's public transportation system, the MBTA, if the role requires you to travel with the children.
What is the usual nanny salary in Boston?
In Boston, the nanny salary can fluctuate based on factors like experience, the number of children, and the specific nanny duties involved. Additionally, the type of employment - whether it's a summer nanny job, part-time nanny jobs, or full-time nanny jobs - can also impact your compensation.
What is the importance of a nanny contract?
A nanny contract is crucial in clarifying expectations between you and your employer. This written agreement details your responsibilities, working hours, salary, vacation time, and more. For a nanny job in Boston, the contract might also specify arrangements for travel expenses if your duties involve taking children to Boston-specific activities.
How does nanny payroll work?
As a nanny in Boston, it's essential to understand how nanny payroll works. This system ensures that you're paid accurately and on time, and that appropriate taxes are withheld. Some families may opt to use a nanny payroll service to manage these financial transactions, and this should be discussed during the hiring process.
Should I expect background checks when applying for a nanny job?
Yes, most families in Boston and across the country conduct background checks for nanny candidates. This process helps parents ensure the safety of their children by verifying the applicant's identity, criminal record, and driving record, among other things. As a nanny, being prepared and open for this process can help build trust with your potential employers.
