I have worked as a full time nanny for over 20 years. Prior to becoming a nanny I was an LPN (nurse) for over 10 years. I have 3 grown kids and 4 grandkids.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

While indoors I enjoy reading, music, and crafting. My kitchen table always has newspaper, paints, and whatever other materials needed for the project at hand. I’m definitely an outdoor person. I enjoy walks every day and try to spread my love for nature around as much as I can. At home I have 6 goats, chickens, guineas, ducks, 3 dogs, 1 cat, and soon (the end of June) I’ll be adding 2 micro mini donkeys to my family/petting zoo.

I cherish the families that I’ve had the privilege to work with. Forming life long bonds and having, even just a little, an effect in the development of the children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have so many memorable moments with my nanny families. I try to keep in touch with the families I’ve gotten to know over the years. I guess there’s not one particular moment, but the major accomplishments I get to be a part of remain with me. Making baby food from scratch and getting to witness the look on the face of a baby tasting food for the first time. Successfully potty training a child when they’re ready. Just being there with the child or children I’ve bonded with and being able to watch them grow and expand their world is so gratifying for me.
