A little bit about us…

Hi ya’ll!
Seeking a full-time nanny for our happy, healthy, and energetic kiddo Adaya (Yaya for short; born 2/15/25 so juuUuust about 1y 4mo / 16mo old at the time of this writing). We’ve had a stable nanny situation since she was 1 month old – started out with highly-integrated care between the nanny and us parents with a gradual transition into the hours posted here (M-F 8:30am - 5pm) by ~3-4mo old. Unfortunately, changing circumstances have suddenly necessitated parting ways with the existing provider and we’re back looking for a good long-term fit; we’re seeking 1.5-2 years of stability before transitioning into reduced hours for part-time preschool).
Prerequisites thus far: genuine love and care for kids, prior nanny experience for kids in this age range, availability during needed hours, *reliability,* physically able to engage with and plan activities for a high-energy kiddo (going out for walks/playgrounds/parks, art projects, OMSI, music classes, etc.), fully vaccinated/CPR/first-aid trained, experience with or willingness to learn some other household scheduling/chores (keeping family schedule updated, folding laundry, meal prep, etc.). Additional pluses would include things like early developmental training/expertise or other special skillsets.
A bit about us (parents): Reliability, justice, empathy, responsibility, and curiosity are leading values in our house. Daniel is an ICU physician and Leah works in healthcare research so caring about the health/safety of our community & family is non-negotiable since our lives impact many others through our jobs. We're both queer and lean non-traditional in many respects, so it's a priority to work with someone who respects our choices in this regard. Leah works ~90% remotely and Daniel is mixed between remote and hospital/clinic so we’re quite often around and integrated into Yaya’s life day-to-day intermittently even when she’s with a care provider.
Please reach out with any questions or interest!

A little bit about us…

I am looking for a short to long-term Nanny to provide excellent childcare to my 5-year-old sunshine, who happens to be on the autism spectrum. I will need support while attending nursing school. Must be at least 21 years old, CPR & First Aid Certified, and be willing to commit long term (at least 1-2 years). Ideal candidates must be patient, engaging, child-focused, compassionate, responsible, and familiar with non-verbal communication skills (it takes no time to learn his communication style). He loves to parallel play and low pressure with playtime. He mostly likes his space, which gives you time to prepare things for him. I would really love a nanny who has experience with autistic children and how they operate in a neurotypical world. Responsibilities include all things child related, such as taking care of his needs, keeping him safe and clean, laundering his dirty clothes weekly, cleaning the play area after activities, loading/unloading the dishwasher, planning meals for him on occasion, assisting in potty training, and organizing creative and educational activities (indoors and outdoors), as well as school pick-up and drop-offs on certain days. Pay is negotiable based on performing all the duties required. Gas is also reimbursed.

Hours will increase in May 2023 once I start clinical rotations.
