More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have cared for children in both domestic and school settings. While working in preschools I worked alongside lead teachers to create a culture focused on the DAP (Developmentally Appropriate Practice) model. We built relationships with the children and within that context nurtured curiosity, while supporting emotional awareness and pro-social behavior.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Variety is important when planning activities for young children. I love including established favorites into the day, whether that be cooking, reading, art, imaginary play or time outside being active or quiet to reflect on the day. It really does depend on the unique child under ones care.
On the other end, I also try to introduce new experiences to broaden their interests, help them learn about themselves, their abilities and skills they want to refine.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a nanny is important to me because it allows me to play an active role in my community, offering support to families who are invested in the education of the young child. We work together to plan and problem solve so we can carry out agendas that reflect short term and long term goals.

My experience with special needs children...

Experienced in working with special needs children, their parents and team of professionals to carry out therapy, promote healthy development and support in identified areas.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have many great nanny moments. A common theme in these memories is observing growth and the joy children experience when they go beyond their comfort zone to experience something new. I love those moments of discovery where reconciliation or world view shifts occur.
