The most important part about being a nanny...
Making kids feel valued & respected! As much as I love having crazy fun with children—playing energetic games and doing messy crafts—I think the most important thing in childcare (and the thing that tends to endear me to kids) is simply giving them the attention and seriousness they crave! E.g., looking them in the eyes, treating them as though they’re capable of the task at hand, and really *listening* to them.
Also, of course, listening to the *parents* to ensure their needs and expectations are met & exceeded!
