A little bit about me

I graduated from The Ohio State University December of 2024, with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in dance. For the past year I have worked full-time as a server, while also working part-time as a nanny for a family of two boys, and as the choreographer for the theater department at Thomas Worthington High School.
I am looking for a full-time position. I am hoping to start June 14th, however, that date is open to negotiation.
My apartment is located in Harlem, and I am more than willing to commute.
In my position at the high school, I worked with kids ages 13-18 but I have experience with a wide range of ages, as young as infants. I have a younger sister, so my first experiences babysitting started around age 10/11 taking care of my sibling. I babysat for several families in my neighborhood through high school and college and can provide references and I’m also willing to do light housework.

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In my position as a choreographer, I was responsible for leading and supervising rehearsals. At times this meant I was responsible as many as 30-35 students. I have extensive experience maintaining the focus and ensuring the safety of my students while I am responsible for them. For the past year I have worked part-time for a family of two young boys, ages 3 and 4. Throughout the past year I helped their mom who worked full time, by getting them out of bed in the morning, taking them to daycare, picking them up from daycare, feeding, bathing and putting them to bed in the evening on an as-needed basis.
As a freshman in college I worked with a community theater program as their choreographer, with students ages 7-18.
Throughout my junior and senior years of high school I was part of a mentoring program where I worked as a teacher’s aid for third grade classrooms in my school district.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love doing crafts/creative activities like sidewalk chalk, drawing, and painting. I have played games and puzzles, if the children enjoy those. But as the weather gets warmer I really like to spend as much time as we can outside. This time can be spent in the yard, going to a park, or even the pool when it’s hot. I am a strong swimmer and completed a full course of swimming lessons as a child.I’ve taken children on outings to museums, children’s shows, and other kid friendly spots. Additionally, since I am a very musical person, I love singing and dancing with kids. If we are going to watch T.V., I prefer to watch something that can get them engaged and moving, such as a movie or a show with a lot of songs.
I’m also willing to help with homework. History and English were my specialities in high school!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have developed a very close relationship with the two boys I have watched this past year. My favorite thing is to pick them up from daycare, because whether or not they knew it was going to be me picking them up, they run into my arms and give me the biggest hug. I squeeze them and tell them how much I missed them!
