Started babysitting when I was 13 years old for a local church family. I have a 2 year old nephew and a 7 year old niece who I’ve helped raised since birth and see frequently. I have extended family with multiple babies, toddlers, children and teens who I spend time with and look after when around. I desire to be a Mom myself someday!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Anything to do with learning, sharing, expressing! Water, music, nature, moving our bodies, testing our minds! I love it all. Games, crafts, admiring the pedals on a flower, going for walks, dancing with the birds, sitting in stillness. I encourage all realms of creativity and peace, and allow the children to show me their happy place.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Setting clear boundaries and rules is a must. Being tender and gentle in the way I deliver my words and confident in the way I care for them. Making the children feel safe is extremely important. Giving them creative outlets to express themselves and allowing for new experiences to grow in is equally as important for their stimulation and development. Being fun! But equally stern when the times call for it. Teaching cleanliness and kindness along the way.
