More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
One of my experiences with children is through my church’s children’s program. I was one of the Sundays school teachers. And I also organized and lead the midweek children’s program. I also have experience at the Kindercare daycare. Where I went from float teacher to lead teacher in my time there. I’ve gain experience working with ages 0 to 12. With both my time with the children’s program and daycare.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
One of my favorite activities I did with my class, was making rain maker instruments. At the time we were talking about the weather. So we talked about the rain cycle, and the kids got to hear rain sounds as well. While the kids each got to put together their very own rain maker. Once they were done, the kids got to try them out. We put on some music in the background. And the kids got to shake the rain makers, and dance to the music. I loved this activity because in it they learned something new, got creative, and got to use their fine and gross motor skills.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of working with children is being a safe person. Someone whom the children know cares about them, and wants to help them. Someone the children know they can run to no matter what. And be protected, helped, and loved. Someone who the children know is a safe place, and the parents know they can trust.
My experience with special needs children...
In my experience working at the day care, I have helped kids with different levels of autism and adhd.
The most important part about being a nanny...
There was one moment I had in class that I still remember to this day. We had just finished snack time, and I was starting to clean up. When a little girl who liked to have me play with her came up to me. Asking if I could play dolls. I told her I could, but first I had to finish cleaning up. She skipped off. But to my surprise she came back a moment later. With a towel to help me wipe down the tables. It was such a sweet moment.
