More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have been babysitting since I was 12 years old for family and friends and on some occasions, neighbors and friends of friends (acquaintances/ strangers). I was a nanny for a little girl for a little over 2 years and I was a live in nanny since she was born. When I was there I made food, cleaned, entertained, and provided the little girl with my full attention and love and support. I taught her some basic things as well such as how to count from 1-10 and the ABCs, shapes, colors, animals, etc. I have done volunteer work at my church in the nursery since I was 12 years old. I have lead classes and made teaching plans for the church nursery.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy taking them outside and going to the playground. For special occasions I enjoy taking them to the zoo or the aquarium. I enjoy building and creating and pretending and dressing up. And when we are calming down or feeling a little tired I enjoy snuggling up and reading a book or watching their favorite movie or show.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I took a nanny job right after I graduated high school and as many know that time in your life you tend to be very selfish and only think about what YOUR next step is and what YOUR going to chose to do. I learned quickly that this nanny job isn’t about me and it’s about the child I care for, love, provide for, teach, and so on! It’s important to make sure the child get the love and care they deserve!
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked in my Church Nursery since I was young and have worked with many different children at many different ages including special needs. I have no community college or university degrees in teaching or caring for special needs, however, I’ve worked with autistic, dyslexic, non-verbal, and aggressive children. I enjoy being with them because they are all so vastly different and have such beautiful personalities. I understand that someone with special need children may require help from more experienced people but if the parent is willing I’d love to help in any way I can even with my limited experience.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny memory is when the little girl I nannied discovered bugs for the first time and learned the word and how to say it. It became her most popular word in the house but unfortunately she became terrified of all creepy crawlers and at the time we had so many flies in the house. So whenever I sat her down for a meal and flies would fly close to her, she would start crying and screaming “bug!” and would refuse to sit still and eat. I tried explaining to her that this certain bug wouldn’t hurt her but she didn’t care and made me stand there the whole time to keep the flies away.

Hi! My name is Lindsey, I am born & raised in Central, FL. I currently am on a travel assignment with a family caring for two children, ages 3 & 7. I will be looking for a new assignment come mid July. I am very flexible & willing to travel. I have experience with all ages, children & adults with physical disabilities as well as being mentally challenged. Since I was 13-14 I have been the designated 'babysitter.' I love children & enjoy the experience of helping them learn & grow into themselves. As I've been doing this assignment it is important to me for the children to be in a safe environment but my number one goal for the child to flourish & get the best experience possible.
