Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love play of all kinds and real experiences with children. I love playing indoors and outdoors. I like to follow the child’s lead, especially in the beginning but do provide some activities that I do within my classroom. I can make playdough from scratch, use my imagination for kitchen play and dress up, build awesome train tracks, and read as many books possible.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe the most important part of being a nanny is to form a special bond with the child and make sure that the child understands that you are someone safe. Building a connection both a fun and playful connection but also creating important boundaries and expectations for the child to follow while you are working with them.
Working with parents is also very important for me as I want to remain consistent with the families values, discipline, expectations, language etc. to keep everything consistent for the child.

My experience with special needs children...
I have been teaching children ages 3-5 with special needs for 3 years. I have worked with children with many different special education eligibilities such as autism, development delay, speech impairment, physical disabilities and deaf and blindness.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Some nanny moments are probably of previous children I have nannied or babysat for inviting me to “special friend” day at their schools. I’ve been to a few of them and they warm my heart! It shows the connection I have had with previous families.
