Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am currently a tutor working with elementary aged students on Saturday mornings. For the past 2 years I have been volunteering as a mentor to two sisters (aged 8 and 9) meeting with them weekly to cook, play and learn. I was an active volunteer for many years with the Boys Scouts of America, including as a counselor for 4 years at overnight camp. I was also an active volunteer with my congregation's religious school, and the local PTA.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am an avid cook, gardener, crafter and outdoor enthusiast. I love to do these activities with kids. The girls I currently mentor look forward to our weekly sessions which feature cooking (make your own pizza, or cookies are a favorite), crafts and a dance party (thanks to Kidz bop).

Patience, being a calm, accepting presence who is also able to set boundaries but also have fun. As a mom, I recognize the primacy of the parental relationship- and will do things your way- following your guidelines and rules.
My experience with special needs children...
I have extensive experience working with children with ADHD and severe food allergies. I also have worked with students on the Autism Spectrum.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I love hearing the little girls I watch shout my name when I arrive- they are so excited to see me. It is heart warming to see them get excited about a book we are reading or a game we have made up. It never gets old.
