Hi there! I'm a recent Bucknell graduate and am taking a few years off before attending law school. I am a dependable, patient, and caring young woman who would love to help out with your kiddos! As the younger sister to a sibling on the Autism Spectrum, I've always felt drawn to help others in any way I could with as much grace as possible.

I love to support my community, spend time outdoors, and meet new people! I have 8+ years of babysitting experience with children of all ages. I also spent every summer during high school working as a lifeguard and swim instructor at a local day camp, teaching children ages 2 through 14 and ensuring their safety in and out of the water. In college, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for three courses in addition to my jobs at the school newspaper, admissions office, and the Habitat for Humanity Club.

I have my own car and would be happy to help with transportation, homework, playtime, keeping routines on track, etc :)

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part of being a nanny is making sure kids feel safe, understood, and cared for. I think it’s so important to be patient, dependable, and fully present, while also making sure they’re having fun and feel comfortable being themselves. Bonus points for being silly, too!!

My experience with special needs children...

As the younger sister of a sibling on the Autism Spectrum, I’ve grown up with a strong understanding of the patience and consistency that children with different communication styles may need. I also have experience as a lifeguard working with campers who had limited speech and sensory sensitivities, where I learned how important it is to stay calm, attentive, and flexible while making sure each child feels safe, understood, and included.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nannying experiences was caring for a little girl who was visiting family in the US from Korea for the summer. She spoke no English, but she was so smart, observant, and quick to pick things up. Even with the language barrier, we found our own way to communicate through play, gestures, routine, and lots of patience. I also got to teach her how to swim, which was such a special part of our time together. When she went back home at the end of the summer, I think it was by far one of the hardest goodbyes. Neither one of us could stop crying.
