More About Me
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
At my job, I love when i get the chance to finally sit with the kids and do things like color, draw, build with legos, play board games, play Uno, discuss the latest music and dances with them! I also enjoy when they like to include me in their outside games like handball, or ref light green lights, or sharks and minnows.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I believe one of the most important parts of being a nanny is making children feel just as safe, comfortable, and cared for when they are with me as they do when they are with their parents. I understand how important consistency, patience, and trust are in a child’s daily life, and I always strive to create a positive environment where children feel supported, heard, and valued. Every child deserves to feel included and emotionally safe, and I want to be someone they can rely on for encouragement, comfort, and guidance. I also believe in building strong relationships with both children and parents through open communication, responsibility, and dependability. Whether helping with daily routines, activities, homework, or simply being there to listen after a hard day, I want to create an environment where children can grow, have fun, express themselves freely, and feel completely comfortable being who they are.
My experience with special needs children...
Working with children has given me a great deal of experience supporting kids with special needs, including children with autism and ADHD. In my current role, many of the students I work with are neurodivergent, and I’ve learned how important patience, understanding, and encouragement are in helping them feel safe and included. At times, it can be challenging, especially when other children do not fully understand their behaviors or needs. Because of this, I always try to create a welcoming environment where every child feels accepted and supported. Many students have come to me as a trusted adult to talk, cry, or vent about difficult days, and I value being someone they feel comfortable with. During [phone number hidden], I also volunteered with Inland Valley Down Syndrome Association, where I participated in toy drives, holiday parties, and events that created a positive and supportive space for children and adults with Down syndrome.
