I am currently an afterschool teacher at Queen of Peace Catholic School. The children's ages are from 4 years old to 12 years old. We supervise the children ensuring that they are safe at all times, plan activities and assist students with assignments.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy nature and being outside with children. Using all that is around to learn and have fun. I also enjoy reading with children and playing games. Sometimes they just need someone to talk to and listen.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I helped my daughter last summer with child care and household duties. Having small children is a commitment to constantly supervise and ensure that they are safe. Children learn what they see. Using their fine motor skills are just as important as playing and developing their balance and coordination. I love seeing them feel so proud of themselves when they achieve certain milestones. undivided attention means more to them then material things and TV time.
My experience with special needs children...
I am a mother of twin daughters. My oldest was born with cerebral palsy. At one point in time she was having uncontrolled seizures. Since none of the medications were working, we chose to put her on the Ketogenic diet. She was on this special diet for 6 years and is now seizure free.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My special grandmother moment is spending time with my 4 grandchildren laughing, reading, learning and playing.
