Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love facilitating "messy" sensory play and art activities both indoors and outdoors! Over the years, I have developed many tried and true tactics to contain mess, while still allowing kids the freedom to really engage and have fun.
I also greatly enjoy taking kids on outings and have a variety of "Individual +1" memberships to the Indianapolis Zoo and various museums. Not only is it good for all involved to get out of the house at times, but also such trips are an excellent chance to develop a child’s love for art, history, and the natural world.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe that children are whole persons with innate worth and importance. It is important to me
to respect children by establishing reasonable expectations of behavior and giving them the tools
to meet those expectations. Children do not naturally have the skills necessary to self-regulate,
so it is critical to teach and model those skills from a young age. I believe that children grow and
flourish best when they are in calm, consistent environments and are exposed to truth and
beauty, such as art, literature, and the natural world. They deserve experiences that help them
understand the world around them and respect the personhood of others.
