I worked with kids on the spectrum for 2 years in an academic setting and loved every minute of it! I helped with speech, sensory, as well as toileting. It was more than just academic.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I loved the moment when I became more than just a babysitter to the kids, even though I don't work with them now, I still get pictures and calls from them. The twins always had me laughing, but on one occasion we were in the car waiting for coffee and in the back I hear " HEY! Can I get you a banilla latte mocha and tea"? to which the other replied "No just a tea and a cake but no frosting" The sassitudes were real but always adorable!
