Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I’m personally very artsy/crafty and the younger children tend to love arts and crafts. And seeing their own creativity come out is always the best! Getting outdoors and exploring is good for everyone to do! Reading and nap time, sports and outdoors activities like swimming, etc. After all, kids are full of surprises and ideas themselves, and I’m more than happy to let them get creative.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Patience is key, through any mood swing or outbursts. Kids will be kids and it’s my job to nourish them with love, education, and guidance.
My experience with special needs children...
I am a Registered Behavior Technician that currently stills works with children in a clinic setting. Working one on one with children that have disabilities such as autism to implement their specific behavior treatment plans.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I love the way being a nanny helps me bring out my inner child. Painting, doing crafts, playing outside in the nature, reading books, making forts and being a kid. Watching them grow up into amazing people is an awesome moment! They’re full of surprises and always looking up to someone for influence and wisdom. I always find that every family has left their own impression on me, and that’s something I’ll always carry with me. For example, I’ll never forget the way Natalie always looked forward to doing her homework with me, particularly art because she was very good at it and I encouraged her to follow that passion. Her brother Jason loved playing football/catch with me in their yard and building legos! Taking toddlers and kids outside for a walk, playing on the playground and getting fresh air is always a plus for the both of us!
