A little bit about us

Hello! I have a very playful and smart 4 (almost 5) year-old son named Maverick. He loves to play toys, wrestle, read, do crafts, play outside, jump on the trampoline and go on adventures. You will definitely need to be someone who can match his high energy for rough play and meet him in his vibrant imaginary world. We are not a screen-using family, so you will definitely be busy having fun with him. For now, all your work will be based in our home and our son will be your primary focus. We live on 16 acres with lots of space to play. We may need help with drop off and pick up at his various activities. Lastly, I need help with house chores and ensuring the schedule moves smoothly throughout the day. You won't be responsible for any deep cleaning, but I will ask for your help with daily chores like; garbage, recycling, dishes, laundry, sweeping, general pick up, etc. I work full time as a nurse case manager at the
Hospital in Bend, and my husband is
recently disabled from a helicopter accident and is in the throes of multiple surgeries with extended recoveries. He requires a tremendous amount of rest, but is
very engaged with our son when he has
The bandwidth. On occasion I may ask if you’re able to help with logistics getting he and I around for appointments if you are tying up our car to take care of Mav. I really need a partner in crime to help us navigate this season of recovery for my husband. Lastly, we have a really sweet dog who loves to be in on the action and a really friendly but quite vocal cat, they are buds and love to play in the yard with us. Current schedule needs are TBD once my hubby get out of the hospital and I know more details. But will be within M-F, 730-5 timeframe, part time, likely 25 hours or less.

A little bit about us

My son is 10 years old.

He is home schooled and spends time between home and his grandma's house. We are looking for something who can help 3 or 4 afternoons/evenings a week, approximately 20 hours a week.

Xander is autistic. He is high functioning. He struggles with communicating his needs and emotional regulation. When he's having a hard day, he will not engage with a caretaker - and that's okay.

On the days he needs to be alone, I would expect someone who would help with light house keeping and meal prep. Things like laundry, tidying the kitchen, and keeping Xander's room organized.
